During the summer before my Senior year in college, I interned for a local baseball team, The Klamath Falls Gems. A few of the games I was bestowed the honor of transforming into Tater, the town’s beloved, french fry mascot. Between high-fiving kids after hits and trying not to trip on the wooden bleachers, I thought a lot about how someone gave a carton of french fries the name Tater. Are they both potatoes? Yes. But some people prefer tots to fries — it just wasn’t right! I had to do something about it.

After my summer full of contemplation, I was determined to right the wrong of this small town in Southeast Oregon. So I set out to find a career that would help me achieve these goals — become a copywriter and correctly name all the potatoes in the world.

I’ve yet to scratch the surface on this lifelong task.
